You do know it takes a while for a new gong to get its voice? I have only seen one gong come with a voice. Maybe you can spend extra time and ask the gong to step up to the occasion. I played for a group 30 days after getting mine but it has a better clearing voice now. Better within 2 or 3 months, of course I was learning how to play too.
